I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a ÂŁ1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
